The "Christmas Cradle Song" -- tab and video
I hope you'll take the time to watch this instructional video in which I show you how to play this new song. You'll see a bunch of tips and techniques that are drawn from many different workshops that I'm offering in various places during the winter and early spring of 2021. (Hint: download and print the tab first (below the video), then you can follow along!)
I originally wrote the tab in G major which required a 1+ fret, but I realized that there are still quite a few of my dulcimer friends who don't have a 1+ fret (yet), so I rewrote it in a higher key that uses a capo on the 4th fret. I actually quite like this higher key, maybe even better than the original version, because it just sounds more "tinkly," almost like a music box. So you can download both versions!
Quick note: One very observant person just let me know that there were some typos on the Capo 4 version. They're fixed now (as of 12:35 EST Sun, 12/20), so if you've already downloaded this version, please take another look.
