Manx
Music
comes

first book of arrangements for Appalachian mountain dulcimer -- Tailless Tunes - Manx Music
- Traditional Tunes from the Isle of Man -- is now available for purchase. This book contains arrangements
of 27 of my favorite tunes from the Isle of Man, along with lots of historical and cultural tidbits about this wonderful
Island and its people.

for each song, and a sample PDF of Arrane Ben-vlieaun (The Milking Song), the first tune in the book.

($20 plus postage) here:
In addition, my brand new CD, Alas! The
Horse Is Gone is also available! This CD contains 15 of the tunes in my book, with Yours Truly
playing dulcimer, harp, melodica, and piano, (and singing a couple of tracks) and also includes fiddle and whistle player,
Brian Lindsay, and my husband, Toby Walker on guitar. Click
on the cover photo to see a complete Track List and instrumentation, and to access short MP3 samples of each song.

offering a special "Combo Package" -- $25 for both the book and CD.
Purchase the Combo -- Tailless
Tunes AND Alas! The Horse Is Gone ($25 plus postage)
here:
If you prefer not to order on line, you can still get your book or CD the old fashioned way: Send me a check
or money order payable to Carol Walker along with your name and address, and the products you wish
to order -- I'll mail everything to you.
Please remember you'll need to include postage as
well:
Tailless Tunes (Book) = $25.50
Alas! The Horse Is Gone (CD) = $$16.50
Combo -- both items = $30.50
Send to:
Carol Walker
PO Box 839
Denville, NJ 07834
Thanks!
Both items are scheduled for "Official Release" at the Nutmeg Dulcimer
Festival in Connecticut on October 1, where I'll be one of the workshop leaders, but if you're unable to attend
that festival you can order them through this website.
To the best of my knowledge, there is no such collection of dulcimer
arrangements or a CD devoted exclusively to Manx music on this side of the Big Pond. I guarantee you've not
heard most of these melodies before, and I further predict that you will become as smitten by all of them as I have.
It is my fervent hope that my book and CD will both enlighten and
delight folks far beyond the Isle of Man.

instrumental accompaniment on a professional-quality CD.

The newest avenue of her musical adventures, Carol enjoys playing all types of "old-tyme" country music. Need a
bass player for your band? Available for single gigs here and there.
|
|

A five-member "eclectic, old-tyme, acoustic folk band," with which Carol sings and plays bass, folk harp, mountain dulcimer,
melodica and piano. A fine CD is available -- "Vacant Chair," released in November of 2006. Two more CD's are
in the planning stages, including a special Christmas album.
|
|

Here's how Carol carries around all her stuff, in her fantastic Pleasure-Way camper, nicknamed Pandora. Ah yes, there's
nothing quite like cozying up between a harp and a doghouse bass while she's on the road.... And she really can fix
anything with duct tape, a pair of pliers, and a screwdriver. There she is, enjoying a beautiful sunset on the picturesque
coast of Maine....

Toby Walker is a unique, accomplished fingerstyle guitar virtuoso. Toby is adept at blues, rags, hot country picking,
and coaxes more out of a guitar than anyone can imagine, but the originality doesn't end there. He is also a skilled singer
and songwriter who draws inspiration from traditional and contemporary music. Toby takes that musical foundation and creates
something uniquely his own and has been eagerly received in various venues including concert halls, festivals and coffeehouses
throughout the U.S., England and Europe.
Carol and Toby became husband and wife on May 1, 2008. Carol
tours with Toby whenever she can, and enjoys her role as Executive Roadie.
