Welsh Love Songs (2026)
Carol’s newest book (released on Valentine’s Day no less!) includes her signature arrangements of songs about love in its various forms: starstruck affection between young lovers; lost love on the high seas or in one’s own village; lifelong partners growing old together for better or for worse; love of life and country; and unending regret-filled yearning for the one that got away. Each song has a tasty helping of Carol’s “delicious chords” that enhance the various moods presented by the lyrics.
The songs have been curated from Carol’s collection of traditional Welsh songs arranged for piano and voice, and include all the English verses as translated from the original Welsh poems.
There are 25 songs in all, each one of varying levels of difficulty, but certainly suitable for intermediate players and up. The lyrics are written between the melody and tab lines, making it easy for you to perform these in any setting. But one does not need to be a singer to enjoy these songs – each one is written as a stand-alone instrumental, complete with intros, interludes, and codas.
The book has been laid out so that page turning is minimal as most songs have only two pages and are arranged side by side.
A complete set of mp3 soundfiles is included for listening or downloading.
