Welcome to St. Kilda!
Please click here for CD Program Notes
Here's the front and back covers of the CD sleeve... (This is the first professionally-produced CD I've made in about 12 years!!!) Special thanks to Stuart McKenzie for permission to use his beautiful photographs throughout this project!
Stuart McKenzie has put together a marvelous website full of information about St. Kilda, including its erstwhile residents and historical background. Spend some time on this site to learn how this music found its way from Trevor's piano in Scotland to Carol's dulcimer in New Jersey: https://www.melodiesofstkilda.co.uk/
FYI: A percentage of the book and CD sales will be donated to Inch View Care Home in Edinburgh, Scotland.
If Trevor had lived longer he would have become a resident of Inch View. The home has a 'Trishaw', a three-wheeled cycle named 'Inchy'. Residents are cycled around the local park 'to get the wind in their hair' as part of an initiative called 'Cycling Without Age' (cyclingwithoutage.org). Residents love the rides, they feel both young again and empowered as passers-by give a friendly wave and a smile.
Trevor's question to Stuart was this: "Can these things record music?" Indeed they can, Trevor, and now your music will live on, never again to be "lost," and your legacy lives on at Inch View.

Photographs, maps, and other tidbits related to the Melodies of St. Kilda;
AND -- Videos of Yours Truly demonstrating exactly how to play each of the "tricky bits" in every piece. (posted 7/18 -- see below)
I'll also be adding updates about new Kildan developments, such as another Zoom presentation by Stuart McKenzie -- be sure you're on my mailing list! (Contact me at [email protected] -- put Kilda in the subject line.)
This will be your full-service, one-stop destination for all things Kildan. Bookmark this page and visit often!
