Washing your rayon scarf:
Your hand-dyed, hand-woven rayon scarf is hand-washable!
Fill the sink or dishpan with cool water, and add a squirt of Dawn.
Fold your scarf into a loose bundle, and submerge it completely. Don’t agitate -- just let it soak for a few minutes.
Rinse by holding the bundle under cool running water until all traces of soap are gone.
Squeeze out what you can with your hands, then lay the scarf out on a bath towel. Roll up to squeeze out all remaining moisture.
Lay flat to dry or hang it over a round curtain rod (1 - 3 inches in diameter).
Rayon doesn’t look great when it’s soaking wet, and the fringe may appear to be tangled. Don’t panic! Gently run your fingers through the fringe to separate the strands. It will be beautiful again when it’s completely dry. Promise!
Ironing is not necessary, but you may want to smooth it out a bit, using a low heat setting.
I sincerely hope you enjoy wearing your new scarf! If you have any questions at all, please contact me: [email protected]
